Claris Resolve 1.0 for Mac
Resolve was Apple’s attempt to unseat Microsoft Excel.
My crowning achievement became known as a classic hack at Claris. My team had a showstopper bug in the final days of the Resolve project schedule. There was a bad memory leak in a Mac toolbox call that we had no control over. After a couple days of hair-pulling, I came up with the idea of creating a new HeapZone just to bracket that toolbox call, and then dispose the HeapZone afterward along with the leaked block of memory. It worked like a charm and I was a hero.
